There are many reasons why, you may consider counselling; individual or 1-1 counselling is where you sit with a counsellor and express the way you feel and why. Your feeling and your “way of being” is not always obvious in the first instance, but with time and being kind to yourself and having that listening ear, together we can work through any issues you have. Each session last 50 mins to 1 hour, your initial assessment will be about 1.5 hours.
The counselling sessions can be held in my therapy room in either Kiln Farm or Woburn Sands or we can “walk and talk” (this is where can either walk by a canal or sit in a park and talk; some clients have found this less daunting than sitting in a therapy room).
At your first session I would ask you to complete an assessment form and we will have a general conversation about what you would like to receive from counselling.
Your first step into counselling can be a difficult one but the end results can be eye opening and rewarding. When you overcome your challenges and you have that revelation, you are able to develop inner peace with who you are.
